Overview
The Yirgacheffe region is one of Ethiopia’s most iconic coffee origins, celebrated for its high elevations, rich biodiversity, and centuries of cultivation heritage. Sitting between 1,795 and 2,150 meters above sea level, this area produces coffees known for their layered sweetness, fruit-forward complexity, and floral aromatics.
Coffee here is traditionally grown by smallholder farmers on tiny plots intercropped with fruit trees and subsistence crops. Most of the work is done by hand, and nearly all farming is organic by default - no synthetic fertilizers or pesticides, just generations of knowledge passed down through families and communities.
